I love my neighbourhood. It has a lot of things going for it: my presence, and other things also. Renfrew Heights Community Centre and Library is close by, parks abound, and it is quiet and full of happy old first generation immigrants with really really nice yards and only one known crackhouse. We have a firehall with hot firemans, a Chinese grocery, a Portuguese bakery, a great view of the mountains on the North Shore, a Korean fish shop, two skytrain lines, lots of buses, a Canadian Tire and a Superstore, and a Subway sandwich restaurant that has an After 7pm Special (two, foot-long sandwiches for 7$). It's also only ten minutes by bus to my folks' house, and within delivery range of several good restaurants.
BUT, there is no pub. There is NO pub! The closest pub is the El Do, roughly 20 blocks from here. The El Do is a horrible pub, not even in a "so-bad-it's-good way" but like a "where-stinky-things-go-to-die way".
It's very sad.

Hey! How come you didn't say anything about the Madonna concert? That was truly something blogworthy!
