The Chesterfield

Rather on impulse, I bought a behemoth new chesterfield for the house. I stopped in at the furniture store on my way home one night on whim to see what was available. The first one I saw was the one I ended up buying - a big (what we in this house call "gorillasize"), chocolate brown, comfy one. I lied down on it and stretched out to check and make sure all of the gorillas in the house would fit. I figured it seemed about right. All the other couches were two-seaters (no gorillas), flower-patterned, suede or leather. I called home for a conference and decision and went for it.
When Sears delivered it a week later, it dawned on the household that the chesterfield was so enormous in fact it might not fit in the house. It turned out to be NINE FEET LONG and almost three feet deep! I thought it was big, but NINE FEET!! It sat jammed into the basement back door, laundry room and halfway up the back stairs for a few days , before the genius boys figured out a way to get it inside the actual living room upstairs. When I came home from work it was right where I had envisioned it!! I love this couch!! It's my first new couch! Not just new to me! Yay couch!!
