Vancouver has gotten a sudden spell of actual cold weather. It's been below zero for two days in a row! Plus here in the city we have snow. The side roads are layered with tire-track ice. I wore my Sorels with my teachery dress pants in anticipation of the snow being worse in Coquitlam and Port Moody, but there is no snow or ice out there at all. In fact, I was looking from the Skytrain on the way home from working, and there is no snow at all east of Boundary Road. Not even on the approaches to Burnaby Mountain! That is unusual as there is almost always way more slush and gunk the farther east and away from the ocean you go. The mountains got something like 50cms on Saturday night, and they look spectacular, I can't get enough of them.
